Drumming is a part of my life and it is always a pleasure to play live. I am fortunate to have been borne at a time when popular music was on the verge of change and grew up listening to Chuck Berry, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Cliff & the Shadows, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, B B King, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles and whole Mersey beat scene. So, it seemed natural to play. At West Hatch Technical High School, Chigwell In 1965 we formed "Group 66" and in 2005 had our 40 year re-union with the original band back on stage. We were joined on stage by "The Dooleys" and have had a subsequent gig together and more are plannned.
The in between years have been been more than just rehearsal. I have enjoyed playing with some wonderfully talented musicians in various bands around the world including:
Sid Boddy's Family Allstars, The Chain Gang, The Mariners, Screaming Fred and the triple syncopating semiquavers, Rotten Hat and the ECC83's, Fred Spoons and the Toy Balloons, The Tony Mann Trio, Mike Bown Sound, Blue Vein, Second City Sound, Quintet London, Twos' Company, The Copy Cats, The Russ Williams Trio / Quartet, Blues unlimited, The Oxford Showband, INTELSAT's house band in Washington, The Salsa Cabaret band of Mauritius, Dad's Band, The Sunshine Trad. Jazz band in Capetown, Micro Music and numerous pit orchestras for amateur dramatics, schools and villages..
